Jaxsons Parrot - Karen's AM group

Jaxson's Parrot

Jaxson told his group all about his parrot he has at home. The children were very excited and asked lots of questions.

"Does he talk?"

"What colour is he?"

 "Does he fly?"

With all the excitement and chat we decided to make our own colourful parrots, which lead to more chat about the jungle/woods/where they live and all the other animals.

This was a wonderful activity that allowed the children to explore their imaginations, think about other habitats as well as communicating with each other about parrots.

GP Exploring Conkers - Tara & Liz AM Group

Exploring Conkers

While Tara and Liz's group were doing circle time, their group got talking about the leaves blowing in the wind. Bobby and Jayden said that conkers fall off trees too.

They took a walk to the park and collected the conkers that had fallen off the trees. They took them back to school and cracked them open to find that they were white. The children, Tara and Liz were confused by this because we said "They have to be brown!"

When they arrived to school the next day, they had turned brown!! The children then made conker pictures using green and brown paint by rolling the conkers dipped in paint around white paper.
