Making bird feeders - Liz's AM group

 

🐦Making Bird Feeders🐦

During circle time, the children have been discussing the changes in weather and how it's getting colder. This started a conversation about the birds and how they need to be fed a little bit more during the winter as it's harder for them to find food, so the children decided to make bird feeders to hang up in their garden for the birds. 

Using pipe cleaners and cheerio's, they threaded the cheerio's onto the pipe cleaners and connected them together at the end. Some of the cheerio's also maybe were eaten by the children as they made the bird feeders. 

This was a wonderful activity that taught the children the importance of looking out for animals as we head into the long cold winter months and encouraged the children to think of ways of helping animals :)
