Miriams pod BW

Imagination and Literacy

Miriam's pod have loved building and real life role play.

Building and playing with the castle,  great imagination πŸ‘Œ

Erin is enjoying role play with toy figures in the castle below creating her own world and story as she plays, these activities not only fuel a child's imagination but also help with concentration, focus and fine motor skills.

It is an important part of the Pre-School curriculum to make time for children to explore their surroundings, use their ideas and imagination with the toys as well as mirror play what they have seen  happening at home, as can be seen below by Poppy Mae below making a cup of tea.

Children are constantly observing and learning from what they see around them, making parents and caregivers the most important teacher's in their lives.

πŸ“–Story time πŸ“–
Daniel is sitting in the bubble chair listening and enjoying his groups story.

Above Kaia is retelling the storyline of the book.

Reading stories is a great way to encourage language development,  it helps to build vocabulary and sentence formation. It is also a wonderful social activity as children love to engage with their friends and teachers.

There are many skills Kaia is accomplishing by re-telling the story from memory recall to confidence and self worth. Standing in front of a group and retelling a story takes confidence and a self belief, well done Kaia πŸ’—
